I downloded Mandrake OS official 10.1 ,,,Test media was ok, and SHA1 was ok for all 4 CDs.

I tried to install GCC through: Software manager-->select the development program group-->install GCC.

I received the message below during installation:

Quote:
Verifying Oackage Installation :
The following package have bad signatures:libstdctts-devel-3.3.4mak.i586.rpm. Invalid signature ( (SHA1) DSA sha1 md5 (GPG) (MISSING KEY) GPG # 78d019f5 NoT ok ).
Do you want to continue installation-------I pressed yes.

When I checked these command:

1- which gcc
2- gcc --version
3- rpm -q gcc

It showed me that It has not been installed.

How can I overcome this issue ?

Use another distro?

Actually, when it comes to development tools and stuff, when you install a distro, I always tell newbies to install this stuff even if they think they won't need it. Trying to install it after the fact has always been in my experience a major PITA.

I don't know what to tell you. If it were me, I'd try a reinstall and/or new distro. Either way, never choose one of those default platform choices. Always do a custom install and pick everything you want.

well, you don't have to try another distro, that's just a subset of reinstalling. I was never a big fan of mandrake. But you can most definately try a reinstall of mandrake, making sure you know what's going to be installed (custom package installation).

edit: To directly answer your question, no you don't have to reinstall your os at all, but it could be quicker to do that than to have to wait for an answer for installing development packages that might not work anyway.
