Managed to delete Xfee86 on Mandrake

Amd 2500+
Asus a7n8x delux (nforce2)
Seagate sata 120
Shappire 9200se
Mandrake 10

Deleting sounds quite impossible (mayby), but I was traing to install new ati drivers, because of the slow 3d in games. I discowered, thed I have Mesa 3D drivers. So i tried varjant nr 2 in

ati.com/support/infobase/4479.html (could not post with url, cause of my first post in here. )

meaning, traied to remove mesa drivers. The error was not the same, that has in ati example. "Conflicts with file from package XFree86-Mesa-libGL-4.x.x-x" But similar. I removed the mesa things I founded in mandrake software remove section. But then was problem with xfree86. Then I tried forcing ati drivers install, hoping, thad mesa is gone. But after install, and the config thing inserting the command, to see "If the output reads OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc. then your ATI drivers are installed and configured correctly."

But there was still Mesa. That means low fps in games. 1-5 in call of duty for example. So I simpli tried to remove Xfree86 in root. It was in use ofcorce, but I dont know what I was thinking, but I used the "rpm -e --nodeps " command and removed the anoying conflict. And ofcorce the install didnt work, and the whole system didnt work correctli anymore. After restart it went only in text mode. startx said "
xauth: error while loading shared libraries: libXmuu (2 final word I dont undrestand anymore in my handright. will write then in need later.".so.1 cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" And that 6 times. Onetime was xauth=xinit.

I also tried in console install downloaded XFree86-4.3-32.1.100mdk.src.rpm, but it said 10x "warning: user qateon does not exist. using root". Then it installed something, but didnt get it work thatway.

So big screwup, in bad english, but I hope You undrestanded the situation. If something is undestandable, the ask freely. I'm not total newbie, but not a very experienced too. I hope to get it fix, without new install. Got lots of documents and stuff on there. So help me back to my warm Mandrake from ugly windows. :P

I'd use something like "mdk.i386.rpm" or similar, not the "mdk.src.rpm" since that's a source-one.. don't know if it has anything to do with this, but try out. I don't use rpm-based linux, and haven't used for a long time, so I don't remember so well...but that's a start at least.
