mambo installation problem

Hi!

What should I do if the mambo installation script tells me that my "MySQL support
is Unavailable". The database is running and I can access it from the shell.

Thanks,

Do you have MySQL support in your PHP installation? I think that's what it comes down to.

I have apt-get installed php4-mysql, I supposed that was enough for the MySQL support on PHP.

Well, try creating a web-accessible file (say, info.php) with these contents:
Code:
<?php
    phpinfo();
?>
Access the file through your webserver. This will print the PHP info page where you can see a lot of useful information.
