Unhappy Making jpilot, gnome-pilot, kpilot or others recognize my palm tungsten e2

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
I cannot seem to make my Tungsten E2 handheld Palm OS PDA sync on ubuntu 9.04 with jpilot, gnome-pilot, or kpilot using my USB connection. I diff'd the output of the ls command when the pilot was trying to connect to sync, and with it entirely unplugged. the result was the following:
Code:
175a176,180
> usbdev6.14_ep00
> usbdev6.14_ep02
> usbdev6.14_ep07
> usbdev6.14_ep81
> usbdev6.14_ep86
I'm not seeing a ttyS0 or ttyUSB or pilot or anything which is kind of disturbing...

/var/log/messages reports that the palm was only discovered as a "high-speed USB device," which would suggest my kernel is not recognizing it as a palm pilot.

Does anyone know how to configure any type of palm software or my kernel so that I can sync?

Ok, it works under gnome-pilot if I set the device as usb:

I just can't seem to install my files with gpilot-install-file --later or --now. It brings up a "Press hotsync button on Palm Device" dialogue, and I do, but nothing happens... Help?
