Can I use K3b to make iso images of CDs? If so, how?

That burns an existing iso image, I want to make them, like what Nero 6 does when you click "save tracks".

I don't know whether k3b can, but mkisofs does

mkisofs -R -J -o my_image.iso /path/to/file(s)

What do the -r, -o and -j options do? Are they necessary?

Read the man-page ... that will both explain the meaning
of the option(s) and whether they're necessary or not.

Cheers,
