Makin the use of Samba safe
Hi, I have a personal fileserver on my LAN but I don't have a NAT or anything. Both computers have public static ips. I'd like to share some stuff from there but I'm afraid of security with samba. Could I get it to work only on my LAN still tho I don't have a "local ip-network"

Not by default because SMB is not routable. I dont know if samba does something like NetBIOS over TCP/IP but that is neither here nor there. I know you can mount remote NFS shares though, although I have never actually done it.
