make xconfig(qt lib?)

Hello all:

I am preparing to compile my first kernel and I want to ensure that everything goes right. I just completed the stage of updating all required software and I was wanting to use xconfig to configure what gets compiled into the new kernel. Low and behold I received an error stating that I don't have qtlib? Please explain to me what this is and equally important where I can download it from. I've done some google searches, but it's not a very hot topic. Thanks,

Shane

www.google.com/linux is a great resource.

You don't say what distro you are running, so I can't point you at the file. But one of the results from my search was: http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/suse/8....-304.i586.html and it may be a good start point.

Thanks for the info. I am running redhat 9.0, but I am actually looking for the tarball. I believe that the error stated qtlib should be >=3.2 and the rpm for redhat on rpmfind.net is 3.1. So with that in mind, could you recommend a place to download the source tarball at?

Easier fix...

Just use 'make menuconfig'! You'll get a menu just like Xconfig but it will be in a text console so you don't have to worry about qt libs.
