Make Command Not Found

Linux 2.6.15-26-383
Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS

make menuconfig
-bash: make: command not found

I know it's been asked plenty of times but how can i get make when i need it to install my ethernet card? it can be apt'd but i can't do that. Can it be found online through windows? Then i can just simply copy it directly to Kubuntu's partition.

Did you verify that make is not installed on your system? Perhaps it's just not in your PATH. Otherwise, it is probably on the kubuntu installation CD/DVD.

Ubuntu does not install development packages by default or include them on the installation discs.

Brandifer, you could look for a distro that supports you card out of the box, install a distro that includes the development tools on the installation media or look for a network card that is supported well by Linux.
