Major failure of software management system
I was trying to install the flash player and I have put something wrong into my /etc/apt/sources.list
When I type into the console "sudo apt-get install -f" I get the following message Type '<DOCTYPE>' is not known on line 3 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list The source could not be read If I go to the applications menu and add/remove then it tells me that I have a major failure of my software management system |
Looks more like some typo or minor misconception. Which distro, and what line exactly did you add/change?

Additional Info
I am using Ubuntu 8.10
I was trying to add medibuntu to my source list. I have found the problem and solved it. I had a file in my /etc/apt/sources.list.d that was called medibuntu.list. I renamed the file medibuntu.saf and my problem is fixed. I will go back and delete the file now. Thanks for your help |
