Question MailScanner and Spamassassin Question?

Hello all, I've using Spamassassin 2.55 for sometime, with great success on my RedHat 9 box running Sendmail. I recendly install F-prot antivirus and MailScanner 4.23-11. This mailscanner and f-prot seems to be working will together. I know MailScanner can work with Spamassassin. I like the idea of having MailScanner controlling the whole deal (antivirus, filtering, spam, rbls, and etc.) But every time i try to enable the feature (to use Spamassassin) in MailScanner it kicks this error message in my maillog file:

"Sep 1 13:29:58 supstation MailScanner[4885]: MailScanner E-Mail Virus Scanner version 4.23-10 starting... Sep 1 13:29:58 supstation MailScanner[4885]: SpamAssassin installation could not be found"

I have tried serveral attempts on adjusting the MailScanner conf file and also used the webmin MailScanner module to adjust the programs configuration. What am I not doing right here? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg M.

in RedHat 9 you have /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/Mail and /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/Mail . SpamAssassin goes in the first while MailScanner looks for the second...
I have tried to copy SpamAssassin there and it works.

Hi guys, I'm bringing topics back from the dead...

I discovered this thread through a search in google, and am having a similar problem.

All of a sudden MailScanner stopped working with SpamAssassin,
All I get is :
5825 ? Z 0:00 \_ [MailScanner <defunct>]

And it's not logging any errors anywhere.
No file not found or anything.

I then ran it in debug more, and got the following:

&Time::HiRes::constant not defined at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/Time/HiRes.pm line 25

Now, I know barely anything of perl, so I'm at a loss as to what that means

If I disable SPamAssassin, it does work though.
