mail server problem


Hi, all
I have configured postfix mail serrver and while receiving mail locally i am getting user name or password incorect message. Even when logging in to webmail with username and password same error encountering.
Can any one help me.

well firstly i'd tell you to look in your mail logs, normally located in /var/log/maillog, if that dosn't help post them here.

now i'll need some more information, what OS are you using, what is your pop3/imap server? what webmail system are you using? Are you trying to login with a local user or a virutal user? are you trying to use root? have you tried reseting your password just incase you had caps on when you entered it? 'sudo passwd username' have you added a new user and tried to login with that user?
