mail relay/proxy with postfix

Hey group,

First time poster and super noob to lunix email..

I know what i need the server to do.. but i'm not sure what to look for in the how-to/documentation to get it to work..

anyway..

My work blocks smtp port 25 so i can't send mail from any of my pop3 clients.

Is there a way i can use my server at home to check that mail here maybe using a different port that i know is open..

something like this..

pop3client <-- (openport)--> home server <--(smtp port)--> real email server

hope that made sense.

well..

i talked to a friend who has had a similar problem and he recommended xmail.

any thoughts?

I've gotten it installed and i'm trying to configure it now.

anybody have any idea how i can solve that problem in my previous post?
