Madwifi - depmod errors during 'make install'
Hi there
I'm trying to install the Madwifi driver (& have been for days). I can (finally) successfully run make. When I run make install I get many depmod: unresolved symbol in <filename.o> Consquently, when I go to run 'modprobe ath_pci' I get a message saying that it can't be installed because there are unresolved symbols. I also get a message saying that the license is not GPL (or something to that effect), despite there being a line in the code specifying the license to be "BSD/GPL". I have read the requirements for the driver and my system meets them all. I can see that many other people have had this problem as well, but I can't find any answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've been trying to install this driver for a week now! (I am running Redhat 9, kernel version 2.4.20-8, with a Lynksis WMP55AG wireless adapter). Thanks, Katie |
Welcome to LQ!
I don't use RedHat, but these two resources should help you... MadWiki Wireless LAN resources for Linux MADWIFI on RedHat 9 That last one should especially get you down the road. I don't mean to put you off, but RedHat is so entirely different from Slackware that I really would have to ask you everything in those links to help... |
