Angry Macromedia Shockwave

I have been contacting various software and hardware manufacturers and asking them for linux support. I think this is important for the linux community to ask for more support. If we make enough noise they will listen. If we shell out bucks for a new video card aren't we entitled to a linux driver? Anyway, I am trying to ween the kids to linux (they love Tux Racer) and they need shockwave for some of the kiddie websites. After contacting macromedia, they told me to fill out a wish list and pass it along to other linux users. If you would like to see shockwave or you just want to be heard, here is where to contact them.

Codeweavers make a product called CrossOver Plugin that allows the Windows version of some plug-ins to be used under Linux. It is one of the two similar products that company makes. It is not free. Here is a link to where they describe using the Macromedia Shockwave Player 8.5 under Linux:

I am not sure what the difference between Macromedia Shockwave and Macromedia Flash is. I do know that there is a Linux plug-in available for Macromedia Flash but not for Macromedia Shockware. So far I have on only used Flash and not Shockwave but, as the link shows it looks like it is also possible to make Shockwave work under Linux too. Here is another link. This one shows that there is a Linux version of the plug-in for Macromedia Flash but not for Macromedia Shockwave:
