m-audio drivers xmms

hi, i just intalled LE2005 and having some issues with my newly purchased m-audio revo 7.1 I installed xmms and installed open sound system drivers, what m-audio's site recommended. When I open xmms, I cannot use the volume control within xmms??? Also, quake3 does not have any sound??? Lastly, how can I get digital out to work like in windows, is there a better program to run the revo 7.1?? oss seems very generic, thanks and look forward to some feedback!!!!!!!!!!!! LE2005 is very nice, just as long as i get my sound system goin!!!!LOL!!!!

Hi,

I think you may have your Master Volume control down...can you get any sound at all? Also, what window manager are you using (GNOME?)? If you right-click on the volume icon on your desktop, and open the volume manager, try turning the volume up to almost full and then try playing a sound or whatever to check if it's working.

I never used to be able to listen to any sounds from my laptop until a kind person on LQ told me to turn my Master Volume control up....lol
