I'm running RH 2.4 kernel. LVM 1.0.3
volume group: /dev/ramairVG
logical volume: /dev/ramairVG/lvhome
physical volume: /dev/md1
/dev/md1 is raid1 of 2 IDE 250GB drives.
/home is used as a samba share for a couple of WinXP.
My /home fs is at 89% so I wanted to extend it. I have about 150GB of unallocated space in the VG.
I tried to unmount /home but I got device busy. I issued umount -l /home and it was unmounted.
lvextend -L50G /dev/ramairVG/lvhome ** I forgot the +50G
resize2fs /dev/ramairVG/lvhome - FAILED
Said to run e2fsck -f /dev/ramairVG/lvhome - WARNINGS!

[root@RAMAIR home]# umount /home
