lrz snag (Linx Mandrake <-> FreeBSD)

I cannot get files to upload from my Mandrake 8 system to
my FreeBSD shell account.

The lsz (download) works fine.

I have tried several ways to start the lrz and have ended
up with "garbage on the command line" that will not go away
unless I exit Minicom and dial up again (even at .09 cents, that
adds up also)

I *think* what one is supposed to do is start lrz from the shell
account side $prompt > lrz
then call up the Minicom dialog box and choose the "Send files"
and then the file name since this starts to record "bytes send"
sorry that should be "bytes sent" but this does not complete now

When I give up and Ctrl-C to stop it, I end up with a line of
nonsense characters that I cannot get to go away (other than
exiting Minicom entirely)
