low snd volume
 

I've looked for this but to no avail;

Running slackware 9.0 on a gateway laptop. All is fine, and blazing away like normal. However, the snd is very very low.
Everytime I startup the system, I have to open the mixer, and re-adjust the snd volume levels to get adequate sound output.
Is there a way to save the values so they load automatically?

Also, my menu bar on the mixer disappeared. I tried clicking on the titlebar (right click) but as usual, slack seems a bit flaky with right clicks on title bars. the menu popsup and disappears so fast even when I click n hold.
