low screen resolution on external LCD

Hi,

I need some help with xorg.conf. I am running Ubuntu Fiesty on a Dell Inspiron laptop with an external monitor. Everything was running fine with 1280X800 on the laptop LCD and 1280x1024 on the external Dell CRT.

Yesterday, I got a 19" Dell LCD (E197FP) at work to replace the CRT. Unfortunately, the xorg.conf didn't like it and I can't seem to get the 1280x1024 resolution no matter what I tweak. the resolution always resets to 1024x768 @ 73Hz. The LCD's optimum resolution is 1280x1024 @60 Hz.

Here is xorg.conf
Code:
# /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
#
# This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
# values from the debconf database.
#
# Edit this file with caution, and see the /etc/X11/xorg.conf manual page.
# (Type "man /etc/X11/xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
#
# This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
# if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
# package.
#
# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
# again, run the following command:
# sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

The Xorg log file seems to identify the modes available but just can't set the resolution.
The Xorg log file is here: http://cl1p.net/ubuntuxorg/

I am also using the 915resolution patch for the Intel driver. Could this be interfering with the setup? This did not cause any problems with the CRT.

Any help would be appreciated. I got this nice LCD but I can't use it right. Not fair for the LCD
