Lost desktop icons

For some reason my trash, computer, and home icons on my desktop just disappeared. I have tried many different things to get them back and have had no luck so far.

I am using KDE version: 2.4.0-6 Red Hat

Anyone have any suggestions??

P.S. I have tried deleting all of my sessions and that didn't help. :-(

That directory is not empty but it does not contain the trash, computer, or home.

The only items in that folder are items that I created on the desktop.

I would guess that is my problem. Have any idea how to restore those?

If theyre gone, then theres nothing to bring them back. But, since theyre just files too, You can re-create them. Copy em over from another user, create a new user if neccessary.. Remember to chown them to your user. They should work without modifications, but if they dont, theyre just textfiles you can view and edit to see whats wrong.

Thanks

I just want to thank both of you for your input.

I figured it out and got them back.

Once again, thanks.
