Looking for term with decent scroll and UTF8

I have played with aterm, eterm, xterm, rxvt, gnome-terminal and a few others. None have what I want. Or at least, I can't see how to make them do what I want.

What I want:
1) No gui-menus across the top
2) UTF8 support so that man pages display without those screwed up characters
3) A proper scroll bar (I hate the one in xterm)

Xterm is very good, but I hate that damned scroll bar. I tried a modified version of Thomas Dickey's xterm which fixed the scroll bar, but that version has no UTF8.

Is there a beast out there that has these seemingly simple features, or am I stuck?
