Looking for quick and dirty audio editor

I'm not sure if I am in the right forum. I am looking for a quick and dirty audio editor. I tried Audacity but was wondering if there are any other audio editors out there in the Linux world. On the Mac side I use Sound Studio, which for me is very simple and fast. I open up my AIFF file to edit, normalize the sound, edit the audio and then save as an mp3 file using key commands. Audacity can do this s well but takes longer for me to accomplish the same thing I do in Sound Studio. If there are any other audio editing apps out there, I would like to hear from someone who actually uses audio editors in Linux.
