Login to a virtual terminal from another one

All i need to know is how i can log into virtual terminal two from virtual terminal one. Is there any way you can do this? if you try to output data to an unloged into virtual terminal with "openvt" or "> /dev/vt/x", it looks all messed up. So all i need to do is log into that terminal, so i can make a script that opens top in virtual terminal two when i start up. Thanks,

No. I think you don't need to log in the other terminal. All you need is set it up for it understand when you say "new line" it understand "carriage return"/"new line". In your script you have to include
(stty opost onlcr; "your command" >/dev/vt/x 2>/dev/vt/x) </dev/vt/x
I hope it helps.
