I have a duel boot computer using Ubuntu 10 and Windows7. When my computer goes to the duel boot screen, I have at least 7 different versions of ubuntu to chose from. Is there a way to get rid of those selections and only having 1?

You are probably talking about the kernel selection, which isn't actually different versions of Ubuntu but rather older versions of the kernel that remain as a backup after upgrades.

If you use the Synaptic package manager you can remove the older kernel packages, though you need to be sure you don't remove the current good kernel. You should also keep at least the last known working version as a backup.

When the system is upgraded and a new kernel package is installed the older ones are kept for safety purposes. Ubuntu chose to not remove the old kernels and leaves to the users this quite annoying task. Basically you have to remove the old kernel packages from the system (for example by means of the synaptic package manager) and the grub2 boot loader will do the rest by automatically updating its configuration at the next reboot. Here is an online tutorial: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/17787...ub2-boot-menu/. Hope this helps.
