logging file access

I am trying to run a program (sas v. 9) on computer. Unfortunately it starts with a non-helpful error message

Code:
otoomet@ecor467:~$ sas

ERROR: Library WORK does not exist.
FATAL: Unable to initialize the options subsystem.
ERROR: (SASXKINI): PHASE 3 KERNEL INITIALIZATION FAILED.
UNABLE TO INITIALIZE THE SAS KERNEL
Is it possible to log all the file access of a single program in order to see which files/dirs it tries to access?

Thanks in advance,
Ott

Thanks!

Exactly what I was looking for!

The problem was that sas was trying to access /usr/tmp, but my debian did not have it.

Best,
Ott

Create a symlink to /tmp or whatever you want:
Code:
ln -s /tmp /usr/tmp
