Log file correlator+Nagios

now i am using nagios for monitoring hardware status,network. is it possible for me to integrate it with SEC and monitor the log files generated by java applications..

Those might not be about LOG4J-enabled apps (or wahtever else them Java applications provides you with) but should give you more than a rough idea of what you will need to do.
