locate & updatedb

locate seems to be failing for me:

# locate yu
locate: can not open `/var/lib/mlocate/mlocate.db': No such file or directory

So I tried to update my db and received this error message

# updatedb
updatedb: src/updatedb.c:730: scan_cwd: Assertion `name_size > 1' failed.
Aborted

What more can I say,... Duh

Google says to run updatedb -v and see where it is failing, and if it is in /sys, run updatedb --add-prunepaths /sys.

By the way, please tell us what distro you are running in the future.

Distro is Fedora 7-2.6.22.5-76.fc7

Simply changed /etc/updatedb.conf to include "/sys" in PRUNEPATHS string.
