locale files
 

I have some trouble with my locale settings. I want to use ISO 8859-1 nb_NO charset but some config files are set for utf8, and I cannot find which ones I need to change.

this results in some locale specific characters being shown as ?? when I type them in certain programs. old files in those same programs are fine. copy/paste also works fine. I have trouble with programs like kate, konsole, konqueror, etc.

Programs that use their own locale settings, especially those with a separate package for locale are fine.

running kubuntu 8. the problem started when I reinstalled to upgrade from kubuntu 7

whatever I did, now it works. I logged out and back in, and now all letters show as they are supposed to. with utf8, which I thought did not have the characters I need...
