load testing

Does anyone know of any easy to use software that I can use to load test a PC? I rebuilt a server and was to put a load on it and see if it works before I return it to it's owner. Thanks

Well if you're after a CPU load test then you could probably throw some mp3 or ogg encoding at it. Not the simplest thing to do, but you get set up some good long tests.

For I/O tests I think you can use bonnie to stress your disks. Check the man pages for some options to throw at it.

Or you could try a goggle.com/linux search for stress test, or benchmark utilities.
