Question Live distributions that can write to NTFS

Is there a chart on this forum where we can see which distributions offer a live CD (or USB bootable drive) that have the capability to write to windows NTFS volumes?

I know of not one modern live distribution that is not able to do that.

if it's about a rescue operation I recommend http://www.sysresccd.org/ . The rescue disk fits on a 0.5 GB USB stick easily and contains a rich set of tools, including ntfsresize and partclone.

I was hoping for a free open source distribution. I know there were some live cd distributions at one time that could write to NTFS partitions. The only live cd I can find in my collection now is the SuSE live cd which will read NTFS but not write to it.

Thank You for your input.

As I stated before, any modern live CD will be able to read and write to a NTFS partition. Just download one.

I think that if you peek at distrowatch you can find disks that support ntfs-3g.

Each disto may have odd ways to inform the user as to how to mount the ntfs drive read write instead of the most common read only mount.

any new os will be able to read/write to NTFS

however you might need to manually mount the drive / partition

SystemRescueCd is mostly a collection of FOS tools (and a Linux kernel, of course) and is itself released under the GPL-2 license. See http://www.sysresccd.org/SystemRescueCd_Homepage (at the bottom of the page).
