i have vncviewer installed on this computer.
i just loaded debian on a friends computer who has no linux experience whatsoever and i loaded vncserver on his computer and set it up with a password.
whenever he wants something changed, i could just vnc in and kinda "take over things " to help him out.
i have a couple of other guys that run windows and all i have to do is type in a terminal
vncviewer xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (ip address) , enter a password, and i am in. but the friend with the debian computer will not allow me to even connect to them.
the strange thing is that when starting vncserver on his computer it tells me the screen name is debian :1 or something like that, do i need to know that, shouldnt the ip address be enough?
lemme know if there is something different that needs to be done to hook up with another linux machine. i dont know whats up here.
thanks.
