Lists Then Finding And Installing Packages?

Looking here at Debian Lenny, with interest in Fedora, and Slackware, and Hardy Herron, how do we find the right CD to burn, in association with the package we want?

http://packages.debian.org/testing/
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/we...s/i386/iso-cd/

Then installing is by CD, and for some, they choose to use the net.

Where is the partition to which these packages go? Preliminary measures regarding partition size can then be taken, right?

Thanks for the help, I am getting there.

If you're trying to install Debian testing then all you need is CD1 (assuming the machine you're installing it on is connected to the internet somehow)

CD1 contains the base and most common packages. During the install, it'll ask if you want to connect to one of the packet repositories on the internet. Then you only need to download what you're going to install.
