listen to internet radio through a socks server

hi people,

i'm in a university network, where i have tu use proxy (port 80) and socks server (other ports) to connect to the internet.

how can i listen to internet radio using the socks server? with xmms i can't connect to the stations on icecast because i cant use proxy for port 8000 and there is no socks abiability for the ogg and mp3 plugin....

any ideas?

I can't see an option in xmms but it looks like mplayer can use a proxy

hi, thankx for your reply,

in xmms i can use proxy as well. but i need socks, because our proxy can only port 80. other ports can i use thought the socks server. therefore i need a program to listen using socks.

any ideas?
