Hello there again:
I just installed karamba and superkaramba on my machine. Many programs seem to work, but I can't get Luquid weather to do so. It starts but it shows nothing. any ideas?
Thanks

Lightbulb Are you sure it is not there?

Are you sure Liquid Weather is not there? I think it shows up but it is just with a transparent background and the graphics don't show up. So basically you have it but you don't see it loaded. If this is the case then you don't have the right version Superkaramba. If you read the Redme/FAQ you will see that you need Superkaramba 0.33 (the latest) in order to run it. What I recommend is to download the source code and compile it. There is one small bug with the new version....it shows up on top of the programms all the time so you will have to edit one of the files before actually compiling Superkaramba. Here is how to do it:

Quote:
Open karamba.cpp in your favourite editor and comment line 2246.

Change:

KWin::setType(winId(), NET::Dock);

to...

// KWin::setType(winId(), NET::Dock);
Then just do the regular ./configure, make, make install.

I hope this helps.

I tried to do the make and make install again, and I saw that very often it said
Python.h: No such file or directory
maybe that's why it did not install, if so what should I do?

You are missing something.

Ahm...I am not really sure but I think I know what the problem is.

Be sure about 2 things:

1. That you are logged in as root when you are doing the make install (sounds a bit stupid but... )

2. That you have the python-devel packages.

Most probably I would bet that you don't have the devel packages. So just use YaST to get them from the CDs and I guess you will be alright. Otherwise, I am not very sure what the problem may be.

Hope I helped.

Remember to remove the old superkaramba before installing. This is to avoid the old one to start instead of the new.
