I have a redhat 9 system that i have been using as a file dump server,
It has two 10 dirve fibre channel jbod's attatched and one of them has a linux raid5 volume on it. The volume was created on RedHat 9, but now because of various issues the server is geting a reinstall of SLES 9 (suse linux enterprise server). I am worried about losing my volume on a reinstall and I am not shure how to transfer to the new system. Does the software raid transer the volume information to the disks themselvs or is the md program relient on the /etc/raidtab file. Since i have two jbod's i can create a volume on one and transfer my info to another, open to sugestions on how to do this...
