Linux server at school

www.scs.ryerson.ca/~w2kang/RedBay07Sept

that is my school's Linux server, named elara. You will notice that there are a lot of very very small html files.

for example, DSC05712a.html has this code

Code:
<HTML><BODY>
<img src="http://lh5.google.ca/ryersonivcf/RwbTv1fjojI/AAAAAAAAAwc/gIw1CsAgbpw/DSC05712a.jpg?imgdl=1">
</BODY></HTML>
if you copy and paste that code onto your computer and name it, for example, picture.html and view the html file within your computer, it works, but the html does not work when the html is stored and viewed within the server, in other words, by clicking on them. but if you save any of those html files onto your computer and view the html files within your computer, it works. What can I do? I think there is something very special about the images stored in the google picasa server. I appreciate your kindness in advance

Whats that $GET variable doing at the end of that tag-line? Just a guess, but it would imply "image download = true" meaning download to view, as opposed to "image download = false" meaning 'show image right here'.

Does this make sense? Am I on the right track?

EDIT - No, that isn't it, I just tried changing the variable. However, there is some sort of redirection going on there. Seems the images aren't even where they appear to be.

My guess is that the server serving the images doesn't actually 'serve' them, but rather transfers the connection to another server for download. If this were the case, it's probably so the first server isn't totally overloaded with serving images.
Just my guess.. Sorry, I have no idea otherwise

What you just said does make sense very much. Do you know of any great image servers such as imageshack?

That's the only one I know of actually. Imageshack. When it comes to storing stuff online somewhere, I don't really keep up on current trends. I'm on 28.8 k dialup, so most of that stuff is pretty useless to me.
Good luck finding what you are in search of however
