linux players, best skinned player

Hello all,

i am looking for a quite good visual player, with a quite large and cool skin choice.
I like that kind of skins shaped with trasparency, like many the most recent .wal used in winamp.

I tested some solutions:
1) xmms
have generally very simple/suqared skins.
2) xmms + kjofol extension
this way, nice k-jofol skins can be used, but kjofol is no more under development, and can be hard to get it working in some linux distro.
3) xmms, using winamp skins
the most popular/beatiful skins of winamp, ".wal" are not supported, only the old classic can be used.
4) mplayer
have not so much sking choice like winamp have.
5) vlc
have not so much sking choice like winamp have.

From a brief research, none of the .wal skins can be converted in a format readable from xmms.

Any help or suggestion is really appreciated,

greetings,

I just use mplayer -geometry 0:0:0:0 (no skins, no borders, just the media and only the media). I value my gui real estate, and skins just take too much of it. Eye candy for smaller things like xmms is nice though. But then again I've got headphone preamps and such that give me physical knobs to turn and such so I' don't really need a gui to help make quick one handed changes.
