linux native bittorrent clients?
Anyone have any suggestions for a linux native BT client? I have tried bittornado, bittorent and ABC.. neither of which I can get to work. I can never get the GUI portion to load. Python never seems to be able to find the 'modules' i guess they are called.
I have also tried Gnome-BtDownload I can get this one to work.. but I can not find anyway to change the network settings (port settings..??) This would work great but there is almost zero documentation for it. Anyone have any ideas? Im a gnome guy so I would perfer gnome apps over kde, but I will use a kde app if it works :) Thanks Trey |
There is Azureus (not native gnome it's written in java). link--->http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

I faced a similar problem using the GUI of Btdownload . It requires a lot many liberaries and stuff. but one good thing is that it also provides an ncurses version of bt download.
Wht i would suggest is first save the .torrent file to ut PC and then launch the file using the following btdownloadcurses.py abc.torrent where abc.torrent is the torrent file to be downloaded. It will show u a screen on the XTERM itself and ur download will be started in the same screen. This thing only works in shell or xtrem Hope this will help u COOLPAL |
