Hey,
So I'm considering building a linux based car computer. One goal is to have my cell phone connected to this system via bluetooth so I can use my car speakers + a microphone placed somewhere to talk on the phone without taking the phone out of my pocket. The issue is that I cannot seem to find any existing open source software to help. I've been searching google for things like 'bluetooth headset service emulation' and the likes but the closest I got was
http://bluetooth-alsa.sourceforge.net/ which said 'Gammu' could 'make the computer act like a headset' ... but the gammu website says:
'It gives access from PC to various functions in connected cellular devices: sending/receiving SMS, receiving MMS, making backup/restore for phonebook/calendar, uploading/downloading phone files and other...'
which does not include emulating a headset ...
anyways -- anyone try anything along these lines before? know any good bluetooth resources, forums, starting points ... or better yet software that will do this?
Thanks,
Michael
