Linux Infinite Reboot Loop
Last night our server was rebooted at the end of the day, when I came in this morning the computer had entered a loop where it will boot until the login screen, sit there for a minute or two and reboot. I am running Red Hat 9 Enterprise on an HP ProLiant Server. No error messages are given; it just turns suddenly turns itself off and starts all over again. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Perhaps someone changed the default runlevel? At the boot prompt, try specifying the runlevel you want to start in.. like runlevel 1.. if it still boots up to a login and then reboots, better grab a rescue cd or such to check the logs.. etc.

I have changed the run level to 3 and it did not work. So I am going to boot into run level 1 and see if i can check some logs. Anyone have any hints on which logs I should check first? Thanks
