Linux in Virtual PC 2007

I am trying to install Linux (Debian) in Virtual PC 2007. I can install it just fine, but I cannot get apt-get update to work because it says that it cannot resolve us.debian.org and other mirrors. How can I fix this?

What is the contents of /etc/resolv.conf? What is the output of ping -c 10 128.101.101.101 and /sbin/ifconfig?

try virtualbox (http://www.virtualbox.org/), it's open source (optionally open-source).

FWIW, I believe us.debian.org was discontinued a couple of years ago:
Code:
$ ping -c3 us.debian.org
ping: unknown host us.debian.org

$ ping -c3 debian.org
PING debian.org (192.25.206.10): 56 data bytes
...
Suggest you check if the problem mirrors aren't resolving because they don't exist.

For starts, try debian.org.

For the rest, post the ones that are giving you errors.
