Linux Experts Check This Out!

i downloaded the ISO's for the Linux 7.1 from an FTP site and burned the disk 1 ISO to cd. The Cd is bootable and everything, but i keep getting stuck when it asks what media contains the Linux installation files. When i select CDROM and press ok, i get an error saying COULD NOT FIND A RED HAT LINUX CDROM IN ANY OF CDROM DRIVES. PLEASE INSERT RED HAT CD. What the heck is the problem? the ISO was burned onto the cd! what am i missing? help!

are you sure you downloaded/burned the whole distro? when downolading with ftp's it's possible to download just a part of the iso file that will look just as the whole file should - only smaller. perhaps you lost connection few mb's before download was complete...

Rule of thumb before you accept any download as complete: check the file size (in bytes) of the d/l'd file vs the ftp file. Or, if the checksums are available, check that. Saves headaches.
