linux boot


hi all, i am a newb, just got a question if any of u guys can help me out, i reinstalled my winxp after linux, and didn't seem to be able to find boot.ini under windows folder, is there any other way i can modify the mbr?

Hi,
I tried to boot with XP, but can't booting linux with WinXP OS
Some of my friends also tried but can't

It's probably hidden from you. From memory, so it might be a little off, here's an attempt at helping you turn off hiding files:

Control Panel (if you can't find folder options, open up your C: and click view, folder options)
Folder Options
Click the view tab
Uncheck the check mark next to "hide the entire system from me, because I am incapable of knowing as much as you bill, you ass". Actually it might say: "Hide system and configure files" or something similar to that.

Then say "Ok" and now have a peek.
