Linux Autoshutdown when startup..
:( my redhat linux 9 runs normally until yesterday afternoon , but after my dinner , i dont know why it is going to shutdown since i restart the linux until starting the smb service. when starting smb service , its signal "switching to init 0...." then lastly my linux offed.... can someone give me any advices :(?:newbie:

try booting into single runlevel
(in grub ,press a and add the word 'single' to the end of the line, in lilo press ctrl+x or esc and type 'linux single') now do ntsysv --level 3 remove smb also check the smb script |
Check /etc/inittab and make sure that 'id:<number>:initdefault' does not have 0 as the <number>. It should be 3 for text login or 5 for graphical logins. I doubt that's what the problem is if your box just suddenly started doing this, but it's worth checking.
