Unhappy Linux and MSN

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Okay so i'm a linux user and i have been for some time. Obviously I am sick of windows all the time however my ISP is currently MSN DIALUP and now i hear it is possible to connect via KPPP!

So I Dial In With KPPP and in the debug window msn prompts for "login:" but when i try setting kppp's login script to look for that it never works.

Can Someone who has had success maybe send me their login script from kppp or tell me how?!

Or is their a manual way i can send my login?

You Help will be greatly appreciated,
Louis

well....there are numerous ways to get connected. I never liked kppp that much, for some reason...if you look for a command-line app, wvdial is good and very easy to use & set up. also, if you wish to configure ppp, get a program called pppconfig and that should help you out...it's a menu-based easy-to-use thing to configure ppp.

Yeah I am currently running knoppix of my H.D. i copied the ISO to my h.d. and run it from their since i dont have the hard drive space to actually install knoppix so basically yeah....

I cant install any new apps.... and like so i have KPPP and PPPCONFIG and whatever else comes standard with knoppix (alot) to work with.

So i need a way to connect.... and thats where the problem is.

I sure hope i am not stuck with windows when i wanna get online, it's crashing as i type this lol.

You can connect with any dialup client for MSN.. I hope you are talking about dialup since you have mentioned kppp.

I know that part my problem is with the login script...... what exactly do i put line for line as the script because without one it prints login: in the debug window after it connects and just hangs so obviously it needs a login script and for auth method i set it to CHAP which is the authentication MSN uses.
