Linux alternative to Windows Movie Maker?
 

I like how I can splice together movies with Windows Movie Maker, but I am wondering if there is something like this for Linux?

I've googled around and couldn't find anything. Does XINE or Mplayer have this option?

I never had much luck with it (note: I didn't try very long to use it), but I guess a lot of people really like it.

I think that mplayer can do some splicing and encoding from the command line, but I'm not sure how.
