I am a truck driver with a Toshiba Satellite 2410-s205 with Widows XP Pro. When I get home I'm installing SUSE. I use PC*MILER alot. I'd like to know of a linux alternative to it that will work with SUSE. PC*MILER has a linux version but it costs $1300.00 and I don't want to spend that kind of money. Also, is there any problems that you might know of regarding installing linux on this laptop keeping in mind that I use a wireless network card (Linksys Wireless G Network Adapter with speedbooster) to access the internet? If there is a problem with this card can you recommend another?
Couple of things here. The thread was last answered in 2005, I would guess that the need is no longer there, wouldn't you? It's also a good idea to be a bit more polite to moderators - especially if you are digging up a long dead thread just to tell them off.
If you have PC*MILER already use it with wine I ran it years ago other than that the closest your gonna get is google earth. And Acid Kewpie its mapping software for truck drivers so they don't get lost. I still have truck drivers coming up to me asking me directions so it must not be that great.
