Linuc Testing Center

Guys

For a few years now I have been using Linux as my desktop mostly the Top three , Red Hat /Fedora, Mandrake and Suse I love the idea behind linux , but just as the OS is ready for the desktop I realize that there is such a lack of uniformity of software for example I want a RPM for a game I cant go and get one from Mandrake and install it on Suse [ it may work ] but it will probably need other dependancies , S o I am starting the Linux testing Center I have 3 Machines
donated by Techpro my aim is to get those interested in helping [I am not a programmer] The plan is to uniform the software applications ie Media players, Games , and other software for the home user the idea that they can download for free software that is uniform so it will work on all three [ and hopefully other distro's . If anyone wants to be involved I will be setting up a server[ again donated by techpro] There will be a website with secure login and the inside will be discussions on the hits and misses of course everything will be open source ,

I need people who can compile software , build rpm's from source , At first we will be concentrating on three main areas

1. Media player software

2. Strategy/RPG games

3 Desktop applications

My e- mail is Mcseguru@optonline.net

I have 4 kids so it may take a day or two for me to get back to you .

Again anyone interested in helping let me know

Just to clarify we will not be creating new software we will instead be taking existing software and finetuning it ,tweaking it and testing it on the big 3 [ others too ] .
