Linksys Problem

I downloaded firmware for a linksys router, updated it with tftp, got cocky.....and tried to mess with the firmware. Plain and simple, the router still works, but I cannot acess the cgi program from 196.168.1.1 to clear the password, so I may put the orignal firmware back. Now when I try to use tftp I keep getting a Invalid password error, and linksys-tftp doesn't seem to ever do anything(wrong password or not). (NOTE: I USED A HEXEDITOR AND ONLY CHANGE 'PLAIN TEXT')

HELP WOULD BE GREAT!
THANKS

unplug it, and plug it back in.

This will clear any settings.
