link (broken)


good evening to all

Just having spent all day trying to get mozilla 1.2.1 to recognise java ( j2re ) on x86 with RH9

Downloaded j2re 1.4.2_01 . installed ok from /root/ chmod +x ,everthing ok so gfar ,

Enabled java in mozilla , ln -s j2re1.4.2.01/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

the link is red (not flashing ) but properties says it is broken ....

how can i repair it ?

MIME type is application/x-java-vm

handled by application : javaplugin.so

extension = exts-js

thankyou for any suggestions .

make the link correctly, you need ABSOLUTE paths, not relative ones

ln -s /usr/local/j2re1.4.2.01/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
